zabzo came to us with the challenge of changing their on-boarding experience from a lengthy, manual process into a streamlined, user-guided process. To help guide our solution, we created low-fidelity prototypes of their current on-boarding process and used several students to test it. Students signed up for the service by creating an account and uploading their syllabi for each class. They were presented with the option to self-extract data or have data from the syllabi extracted for them. After user testing with several groups, we determined that students wanted a way to add and share task with friends, view and edit assignments on their syllabi, without affecting other student’s syllabi, and a way to invite friends to collaborate on assignments.
The mockups here illustrate our solution for zabzo's on-boarding process and web portal, designed to provide college students with a unique, rewards-based system to manage their course syllabi and school calendars.
